I had a Great Discussion about the Pagan History of Israel on YouTube
El and Yahweh: The Two Gods of Israel
Gonna fire the old Substack blog back up and post any appearances I am making on various podcasts. I am also working on some new presentations which I will post when they are ready.
This recent interview on Jacob Berman’s History Valley show on YouTube has gotten nearly 50,000 views, which is the most views I have gotten until now. Jacob is very discerning and he brings top-notch scholars on his show. I appreciate him giving me the opportunity to present my argument about the pagan Israelites and the old religion of the Mother.
In this interview, we focused on how the monotheistic God of the Bible was originally two separate gods, El and Yahweh. All scholars recognize the initial distinction between the two but most stick to the traditional notion that they were merged early on, at the time of Moses when Yahweh was introduced in the Biblical narrative.
My view is quite different, I believe the archaeology shows that El and Yahweh were separate gods for the entire history of the First Temple and that the historical Israelites were pagans with a full pantheon of gods. The popular religion of the Israelites in this period was the Goddess religion of Asherah, Astarte, and Anat which was a cycle of life tradition full of sex, drugs, music, dance, and nature worship. This Goddess religion is what the Biblical prophets absolutely hated and eventually shut down.
Considering that all hell is nearly about to break loose in Israel complete with a holy war for the ultimate prize that is the Temple Mount, perhaps people will be interested in learning more of the true history of the place.
